“It was too big to be dealt with in four seasons and a half seasons, but as you’ll soon be able to see yourself — we’re now accelerating toward the end of our story.

The fourth season will mark the last season. Season five is the final.

“There are still plenty of thrilling stories to be told in the universe of stranger Things and new stories, new adventures, and new heroes that aren’t expected.

“But first, we hope that you stay with us as we finish this tale of a powerful girl named Eleven and her brave friends, of a broken police chief and a ferocious mom, of a small town called Hawkins and an alternate dimension known only as the Upside Down. As always, we are grateful for your patience and support.”

Stranger Things Season 5 Cast

As you’ve probably guessed by now that not all survived the fourth season alive even though we wanted them to hang for the duration of the show.

There’s no confirmed casting scheduled to announce the casting list for Stranger Things season 5 but we’d anticipate all the remaining central characters to return for more.

This includes the evil Vecna whom we saw defeated during the season finale, but we’re confident that he’ll return with his evil intentions intact as they were before.

Here’s a complete list of the actors we like to see returning in the upcoming season of Stranger Things. Stranger Things season 5:

  • Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers
  • David Harbour as Jim Hopper
  • Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven/Jane Hopper
  • Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler
  • Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson
  • Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair
  • Noah Schnapp as Will Byers
  • Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield
  • Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler
  • Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers
  • Joe Keery as Steve Harrington
  • Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley
  • Brett Gelman as Murray Bauman
  • Priah Ferguson as Erica Sinclair
  • Paul Reiser as Dr. Sam Owens
  • Jamie Campbell Bower as Peter Ballard/Henry Creel/One/Vecna
  • Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler
  • Eduardo Franco as Argyle
  • Gabriella Pizzolo as Susie

Millie Bobby Brown Plastic Surgery (Truth or Rumors?)

Two characters who are likely to not return for a second season include Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) and Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine), who both ended their lives in season 4.

But, Quinn told about his satisfaction with Eddie’s experience.

“I think there’s a great beginning, there’s a great middle, and a great end for the character,” the actor told us.

“And as an actor, you want characters with those kinds of arcs. So whilst it would have been great to come back for another season and get together with all those lovely people again, I think it was a brilliantly realized ending for a brilliantly written character.”

It’s also probable that at the very least a few newcomers will be added to the show next season. They’ll be necessary since season four ended the lives of several individuals such as Eddie Munson, a new fan favorite.

There’s also a popular theory that might bring Eddie back to the family even if the fact that his hero died.

The actor Joseph Quinn is up to return He is trying to find ways to bring back the metalhead and mosh for another day. “Me and Joe Keery [who plays Steve Harrington] were discussing ways in which I could kind of [come back],” Quinn stated to Radio Times.

“Maybe I’d be the figment of his imaginative mind (or something). It’s as if there would be a place for something similar to it, something that’s somewhat more supernatural.”

The character of Mason Dye, Jason Carver, could also be back, despite having been ripped in two after the fourth season finale, when an interdimensional tear passed through his body. Thanks to the power of Vecna the dangerous jock could return to Hawkins to take on the gang again.

We’re not sure what story season 5 will be telling but we’ve had some teasers from the creators as well as the cast in interviews.

Books Worth Reading:

When season 5 was first revealed when it was first announced, the Duffer Brothers said in a statement that the “complete story arc” was set to be released seven years ago and that the fifth season will be the culmination of the strategy.

In a subsequent interview with SFX they declared that the final scene remains in “the rough sketch” they came up with, however, it’s become “more interesting and exciting than originally envisioned by me, Ross”.

They stated: “We know what the ending is. It’s conceivable that it changes but I think it’s unlikely because it’s one of those endings that just feels, and has always felt, right. And it also feels sort of inevitable. Then when you come up with it, you’re like, ‘oh yeah well, that is absolutely what it has to be’.”

Stranger Things Season 5 Plot grid

Another thing we are aware of about season 5, is it is most likely to include an upcoming timing jump in the form of a time jump, as Ross Duffer previously told TVLine:

“I’m sure we will feature the time jump. We would have preferred to shoot seasons 4 and 5 in tandem however there was no way we could do this. This is why we’re having all these discussions we’ll be having with our writers before we get the room set up.”

It is also looking like Season 5 of the show is just like other seasons before it, set to be an emotional rollercoaster. Ross Duffer told The Wrap that when the creators pitched their finale to Netflix “they were responsive to the idea. It was a challenge. The final chapter. I saw executives crying that I’ve never before seen cry and it was exhilarating.”

In the interview with Josh Horowitz on his Happy Sad Confused podcast in podcast, the Duffer Brothers teased a brisk pace for their final season that will be set in Hawkins and continue after season 4’s finale cliffhanger that saw The Upside Down finally merge with the world of normal.

Duffer said: “For the first time that we don’t wrap everything in the middle of season 4 therefore… we’ll be going very quickly. Characters are already scheduled to be on the move.

“They’re already planning to have an objective and a plan which I believe is likely to take at the very least a couple of hours to make this season truly different.

What other things has the cast mentioned about the season’s upcoming premiere?

Cast says about Stranger Things Season 5

While the plot details for the fifth season and its final season aren’t known, Maya Hawke, who is Robin hopes for her Robin to have her “hero’s moment.”

“Well, it’s the last season, so people are probably going to die… I’d love to die with honor, as any actor would,” she told Rolling Stone in an interview she did by Rolling Stone. “But I am awestruck by the way people like the Duffer Brothers love their actors.

The reason why they write so well for me as well as for all of us is that they are in love with the characters and their characters, and do not want to harm them. I believe that’s a wonderful quality they possess and I would not wish it to go away.”

If Robin can win the fight with The Upside Down in Hawkins, Maya is open to different avenues in her character. If she heard that the Rolling Stone interviewer stated fantasies of a spin-off featuring Robin and Steve enjoying their most enjoyable lives somewhere in the 1990s, Maya concurred.

“Normally I’m not an advocate of spinoffs, but If I had the chance to work in conjunction with Joe Keery, I would take on whatever it takes.

Joe Keery is hilarious and amazing and intelligent, and he’s with excellent boundaries. He’s a great coworker and I’d take anything to the guy,” she said.

In the meantime, the Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy announced at an event on September 13 that the complete season’s storyline was proposed to Netflix and the reaction was emotional.

“We did get our executives to cry, which I felt was a good sign that these executives were crying,” Matt Duffer said in the story, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“I will say the thing about these Duffer Brothers is that even though the show has gotten so famous and the characters have gotten so iconic and there’s so much about the ’80s and the supernatural and the genre, it’s about these people, it’s about these characters,” Levy said.

“Season five is already so clearly taking care of these stories of the characters because that’s always been the lifeblood of Stranger Things.”

The show’s producers also said that the overall tone of the fifth season will be similar to the first episodes. “I think that what we’re trying to do is go back to the beginning a little bit in the tone of [season] one, but scale-wise it’s more in line with what [season] four is,” Ross Duffer explained.

“Hopefully it’s got a little bit of everything.”
